08 Jul GOAL SETTING
The first step is usually the hardest. You’re at the beginning of what seems to be a long journey and you’re not quite convinced that you’re up to it. Never doubt yourself. Remember: “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.
What matters is that you get the ball rolling. Here is a few simple goal setting strategies!
Take baby steps
The golden rule is: Don’t bite off more than you can chew. Take baby steps at first and focus on completing those goals no matter how small they may seem to you. What matters is that you keep your routine going.
Get back on track
Becoming physically fit will never be a direct route to achieving your fitness goals. People who have become adept at picking themselves up after the fall off track have it figured out. It isn’t about how many times you get knocked down it’s about bouncing up, bouncing back and getting back on track asap.
Don’t get easily discouraged
Engrain this into your mind: Failure is not an option, actually — there is no such thing as failure. There’s only giving up. And if you believe in yourself you can’t afford to give up. It’s simply not an option. Fitness can give you so much if you decide to give it a chance. Remember: things that you see as the most challenging are the ones you’ll be most proud of in the not do distant future. So make that effort and stop making excuses.
