3 Ways To Promote Wellness In The Workplace

Seated Leg Raises

This exercise is a light leg and abdominal exercise that can be done in your office chair. Simply sit upright in your chair and straighten your left leg so that it is parallel with the floor. Hold this position for 10 seconds then do the same with your right leg. Repeat on both legs for 15 reps. Keep your back straight and your hands on your knees/ in your lap to ensure that your core is engaged.

Football Fast Feet

To preform this exercise simply sit in your chair and pretend as if you were running in place, all the while keeping your feet parallel to the ground. Do this for 30 seconds, pause, and repeat. Working this into every hour of your workday will bring up your heart rate and give you an energy rush.

Walk Around

Getting up and stretching out your body is the most important thing to do to promote wellness in the office. Take a break every hour or so to walk around. Stretch when you stand up, move your body slowly, take a walk, and, if possible, take a short trip outside to loosen your limbs. If you can, do this with a friend and keep each other accountable for keeping up with your desk workouts.

These exercises are great for stirring your muscles from their slumber and getting your heart rate up without making you break into a sweat at work.
